TVXQ′s U-know Yunho talks about ideal types on ′The Beatles Code 2′

Who knew U-know Yunho would like women who want to go to theme parks at midnight?

On the December 17 broadcast of Mnet′s The Beatles Code 2, TVXQ′s (DBSK) U-know Yunho and Max Changmin made appearances and opened up about their love lives and ideal types.

When the MCs asked U-know Yunho whether he knows he really looks like a man now, the singer answered, "I know my looks and my actions feel so, but I′m quiet in front of women. Because I′m so strong-minded, my ideal type is a woman who has a stronger mind than mine."

He added, "For some reason, when a strong woman comes along I feel I become even stronger. I took an EQ test, and I got 98 percent in dominance."

Later on when the panel started to talk about ideal types again, U-know Yunho said, "I like women who are bright and off-the-wall; for example, women who want to go to a theme park past midnight. I like such eccentricities."

TVXQ is currently promoting its recent single Humanoids.

Big Bang’s Taeyang ranked third with 10 percent of votes, while SHINee’s Jonghyun recorded 7.3 percent of the votes. Kim Jong Kook, meanwhile, trailed behind, only picking up three percent of the votes.

Super Junior wishes all of the members could have made it to ′2012 MAMA′

Super Junior has expressed its disappointment that not all its members could be together for the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

Super Junior won big at the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on November 30, as it took home the Best Line Award, Best Global Group Award and Album of the Year Award.

Following their big win, Super Junior shared, “We’re sad Leeteuk and Choi Siwon couldn’t be here with us.”

On winning the Album of the Year Award, Eunhyuk shared, “We’ve been very active with our sixth album in 2012, and we’re so happy to see such a return and thankful. As this is an award that was possible because so many purchased this album we poured our sweat and everything into, we are quite happy. I also want to say I think K-Pop singers were particularly active this year and I am so proud of them.”

Kangin added, “I believe Leeteuk watched from the army too. If he was watching he will have been extremely happy and probably disappointed he couldn’t stand on stage too. We were supposed to fill the stage with Super Junior, but we’re also sad Siwon couldn’t be here either. Based on my own experiences, I believe Leeteuk will return from his service as a better person and is working hard in there. I really feel Leeteuk’s empty spot today and miss him.”

When asked about Super Junior K.R.Y’s future activities, Yesung said, “Super Junior-M is preparing for activities in China, while Super Junior K.R.Y finished its Budokan performance.”

The Super Junior members added on a final note, “We’re happy we can close 2012 on such a high note. We will work hard to be an even more humble group in 2013.”

[MAMA] Audition Program Winners Hit the ′2012 MAMA′ Stage

The 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) provided a stage for Asia’s hottest acts, but it also proved to be an especially unforgettable night for artists who leapt to fame through audition programs.

America’s American Idol’s Adam Lambert, Korea’s Superstar K4’s Roy Kim, Thailand’s Academy Fantasia’s Natthew, China’s Super Girl Chris Lee (Li Yuchun) all performed on special stages for the thousands of fans at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center.

While some already have a huge fanbase, as Adam Lambert and Chris Lee were on their respective television programs some years ago, Roy Kim and Natthew both had arguably the biggest performances of their lives.

Roy Kim won the fourth season of South Korea’s biggest audition program, Superstar K, only a week ago, beating out band DickPunks with a tiny margin, and performed his self-penned song, Passing By and LeeSsang’s Who Are You Living For?, both songs that led him to his win.

Natthew, who won Academy Fantasia’s fifth season in 2008, is well-known in his home country but only recently debuted in Korea with his Korean-language single, She’s Bad, featuring B2ST’s Yong Jun Hyung. While he’ll return to Thailand to continue activities, it’s likely that the night’s performance earned him a few more fans.

Of course, China’s Super Girl’s Chris Lee won back in 2005, giving her plenty of time to rack up a wide fanbase, but her performance of Hello Baby was most likely one for the artist to remember, as she has primarily promoted in China only.

Coming from even farther was Adam Lambert, one of the few non-Asian artists to perform at the 2012 MAMA. The runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol managed to rile up the crowd, which was no easy feat, considering most of the audience members seemed largely apathetic to the non-K-pop stars.

As audition programs have multiplied worldwide, it’s becoming harder for participants and winners to reach international success - but perhaps these four artists are proof that audition programs will continue to thrive.
